Hot Buttered Rum

The chill of winter reminds me that while I love an after dinner drink, the cold ones just lack appeal. This recipe isn’t mine, but a classic homemade mix that warms me clear through.

set out 2 cups vanilla ic cream to soften

beat together:

1 cup soft real butter

1 cup brown sugar

1 cup white sugar

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1 tsp ground nutmeg

Beat in soft ice cream; put in container and freeze.

Mix 1/2 cup boiling water, 1 shot rum (or shot of choice-I also like whiskey), and at least one TB Hot Buttered Rum Mix.

Sprinkle with nutmeg and serve
